Peugeot Stainless Steel Grinders

Peugeot originated in the 19th century France, making saw blades. In 1840 they started to produce burr grinder mechanisms for coffee grinders and adapted the design to grind peppercorns in 1874. It is amazing to think that this is still the same iconic pepper grinder that goes into every Peugeot peppermill sold today.

The legendary Peugeot case-hardened-steel mechanism first cracks then grinds the peppercorn releasing all aromas and flavors. The patented U-Select system allows you to adjust the grind from extremely fine, for powerful flavor, to very coarse, for strong aromas (Six pre-sets for you to choose from). To this day, Peugeot coffee and pepper mills set the standards for gourmets and great chefs alike while offering a lifetime warranty on all grinding mechanisms.

Peugeot Zanzibar

The topic of peppercorns can be fascinating. Peppercorns are as diverse as wines and, like wines, certain peppers pair better with certain foods. Peppercorns may be green, black, red or white yet they all come from the same plant. The time of harvest and subsequently the method of processing will determine their fate. The unique Zanzibar peppermill, fully adjustable with the U-Select system, allows the pepper connoisseur to play with all the different flavors and aromas available in a variety of peppercorns. Change the pepper you wish to grind easily with interchangeable peppercorn selections with the touch of a button.

Peugeot Whiskey Tasting Set

For the whiskey lover: The whiskey glass from Les Impitoyables collection by Peugeot is designed to enhance all whiskeys such as Cognac and Armagnac. With a distinctive wide bowl, this technical glass will reveal the subtleties in the whiskey, bringing out the aromas for an utterly indulgent tasting.

The metal base is designed to chill the spirit for at least 30 minutes, without upsetting it or creating a temperature shock that would inhibit the release of the scents and without the use of ice. For better results, leave the metal base in the freezer for a few hours.

Knife Skills

Knife Skills: Two must have knives in every kitchen

Are you just starting your knife collection or have someone on your Christmas list who is? There are two knives that every cook should own:

  1. A cook’s knife also called a chef’s knife is the workhorse of the kitchen. This knife can be used for almost any cutting purpose; it has a large blade and is used with a cutting board.
  2. After a chef’s knife, a paring knife is the most important knife in a cook’s arsenal. The blade on a paring knife should be stiff because it is often used to peel an onion or take the skin off ginger.

Come into the store we have a wide selection of both chef’s knives and paring knives.

How to make crepes

A crepe is a type of very thin pancake, usually made from flour. The word is of French origin, deriving from the Latin crispa, meaning “curled”. Slather them in butter and sprinkle with cinnamon, fill with jam and whipped cream, stuff with cheese and ham or roll up with smoked salmon and capers, sweet or savory, crepes transform any meal into a special occasion.

  • 125g plain flour
  • 15g sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 325 ml milk
  • 100 ml 35% whipping cream
  • Few drops of vanilla extract or zest of orange or lemon for flavoring
  • 20g of clarified butter or non stick spray to cook

  1. To make the batter, put the flour, sugar and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the eggs, mix well with a whisk, then stir in 150ml milk to make a smooth batter.
  3. Gradually stir in the rest of the milk and cream.
  4. Let it rest in a warm place for one hour.
  5. When you are ready to cook the crepes, give the batter a stir and add the flavoring ingredient.
Vanilla or zest) Brush a crepe pan with clarified butter or spray with nonstick can and heat. Ladle in a little batter and tilt the pan to cover the base thinly.
  6. Cook the crepe for about 1 minute.
  7. As soon as little holes appear all over the surface, turn the crepe over and cook the other side for 30-40 seconds.
  8. Fold into halves or quarters.
  9. Dust with icing sugar or serve with fresh berries.

Enjoy, Chef Tony
